Have we, as a society, completely overlooked psychedelics as a potential treatment for various mental and physical diseases? Tonight, we spoke with Neal Goldsmith, Ph.D., the author of “Psychedelic Healing: The Promise of Entheogens for Psychotherapy and Spiritual Development”, about tribal perspectives on death attained through the ingestion of visionary plants and admixtures, including Ayahuasca (aka, the “vine of death”), as well as zombie-ism, and the extraordinary knowledge base of hard-won tribal wisdom transmitted through ritual. We also discussed the Western perspective on death as seen through the lens of the psychedelic experience.
